The Hagan Healthy Program
At Hagan Health, our motto is "Healthy Mind. Healthy Body. Healthy Choices." A very important part of health is in that intersection of emotional and physical well-being. Two third of the American population is overweight, and a third is obese. This serious health problem has consequences, such that 85% of the illnesses that primary care physicians treat are caused by lifestyle choices, most important of which are poor eating habits.
We understand that there are often emotion patterns and needs that are related to the problem of overeating and being overweight. We offer help in the area of understanding and improving one's emotional relationship with food. Psychiatric evaluations are available for those who struggle with their weight due to binge eating disorder, anxiety, depression, or even ADHD.
Binge Eating Disorder
1-5% of the general population are affected by Binge Eating Disorder. Binge eating disorder affects
women slightly more than men. It is estimated that 60% of people struggling with binge eating disorder
are women. Binge eating disorder is often associated with symptoms of depression. Those struggling
with binge eating disorder often feel distress, shame, and guilt over their eating behaviors. Potential
health consequences of binge eating disorder include:
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol
- Heart Disease
- Gallbladder Disease
- Musculoskeletal problems
We have a team approach in addressing weight management. Dr. Hagan
evaluates and treats eating disorders, the most common of which is Binge Eating Disorder. Sometimes medications are useful, but the most important treatment is done in psychotherapy.
Marydora Conley, LMFT, LCSW

With our team approach, we believe we can help those who have not been successful in this very important part of mental and physical health.
